I finished this last week for a die hard Philadelphia Flyers fan. I have to say, I know absolutely nothing about hockey, but I enjoyed painting this one! It has been so neat to see people get creative with ideas and then let me paint them! Who would have guessed that my UA street name canvas would lead to painting a hockey canvas? That's what I love about what I do. I get to create original pieces that are personal.

It's a rare thing to get to paint something for myself these days. With Carson coming in 8 days, I've been motivated (and determined) to tackle some things I've put off doing for a while. This verse is so special to me and I've wanted it in our living room for a long time. The wood was salvaged from my great, great, great grandmother's house, so it's really special. This was a huge undertaking....it measures 4 ft. x 5 ft. Patrick and I endured countless splinters on this project!

Parker having fun in the snow. It was soooo cold!

So what did I do during all the snow? I painted this new canvas...not as big as the UA, but the same style. I also painted, one UA canvas, one Hallelujah canvas, one pear canvas, and one cowboy canvas. I finished up my January list, which is a good thing since today is February (I can hardly believe it)!

I had a request for a custom order from a friend of mine. She wanted the two streets that they have lived on included in the canvas. I thought this was a neat idea! For custom orders, it is an additional $25.00.

I always say I'm going to take pics of my friend Emily and I (whom I share a booth with), but things always get so busy. These are two new canvases that I will have at the show. I was inspired by my friend Carrie. A few years ago I walked into her house around Christmastime and she had a huge canvas that had "Hallelujah" on it. I just loved it. Hallelujah means "praise the Lord". That is what I want our Christmas (and every day) to be about, praising the Lord. I'm working on a huge funky Hallelujah canvas for my mantel (can I put funky and Hallelujah in the same sentence...you'll get it when you see it). Anyways, I wanted to do a smaller version for the boutique show. So here it is. Emmanuel means "God is with us" in case you didn't know. These canvases are

It's been a while. There is a reason for my absence from blogging, the answer is time. I've been up to my elbows in paint (literally). I'm looking at about 60 canvases right now for the Boutique Show and have to complete 50 more in the next 5 weeks (plus the orders I have on top of that). I did sneak in a painting for myself which doesn't happen very often these days. I had the idea of doing UA canvas after I painted the NYC canvas a few weeks ago. I shared the idea with Patrick and he loved it (and wouldn't stop asking me about it so I just went with it this weekend). This is a 30 x 40 and is $150.00 (actually this one is mine, but if you would like one let me know).

Oh how I love this time of year! Razorback football, fall leaves, pumpkin spice candles, apple cider, I could go on and on. ....the fall boutique show! I really should have started getting ready last month, but could not fit all the painting in. Last week, I made one of my many trips to Hobby Lobby and they had all their fall and Christmas things out. That was enough inspiration for me to get started! The birds I worked on are not fallish, just for the fall show. I am also working on several things for Christmas that I'm excited about. It's kind of fun to be in Christmas mode in July. Seriously? That is what I thought when citiscapes contacted me for my info. I sold this abstract at the boutique show. The lady that bought it from me told me that it was so perfect for her son's room. Her son's room is featured in citiscapes this month and my abstract was in the picture. How exciting! So if you get a chance, you can check it out. I'm in the July issue on page 60. Kind of fun.

Parker's Guitar Canvas

I just got back from Colorado and I'm playing catch up, which is kind of funny because I'm never caught up! Anyways, I'm in the process of going through pictures so that I can put all of my art on this blog. I realized that I have several pieces of art that I have never posted. So this is the first....it's in Parker's room obviously. I can't take all the credit for this one. I painted the guitar and thought it still needed something but I couldn't figure out what. My super fun and creative friend Amanda Reed had the brilliant idea of adding fishing line for the strings. She also free handed the lettering. Whenever I'm in a bind and my creative juices aren't flowing, she is my first phone call. She never fails!
